Music

Kyoko
A tune composed after a ramen dinner, homage to a beloved friend. A person with an extraordinary view on our world, also the artist behind the artworks of the album. Sets the sound of the ensemble.
Eleison
Inspired by Renaissance composer Josquin des Prez, Eleison is a meditation on atonement and forgiveness, drifting between quiet introspection and exclamatory lament.

Lili
It is a dedication to one of the most influential figures in Marès’s world. A bridge between soundscape and groove, the piece evokes the need for introspection that brings to an ending left intentionally unresolved.

Un Domingo
An original danzón composed by Evelyn Vera Gallardo, inspired by a close friend who invited her to write a musical introduction for a Sunday church service. The piece served as a reflective interlude at the start of the service, setting the tone for a calm and grounded gathering. “Un Domingo” is written in the traditional Cuban style, with an emphasis on elegance, clarity, and restraint.

Lotophagos
A piece about the ports of life and their conflicts, staying when you need to leave and leaving where you want to stay.
Walkin' a Beat with a Peg-legged Policeman (By Thomas Böttcher)
An upbeat composition by our former teacher Thomas Böttcher.
